Invited by the CIVICA, a local TV broadcaster in the province of Gorontalo, Indonesia, the technical team of Digital Horizon visited the transmission site and met the technical director of the station. An analog PAL transmitter of 1500W was installed in 2008 and it covers a radius of 30km. After 24 hour on site engineering and integration, this transmitter was converted successfully to DVB-T2 transmitter of 300W digital with high RF performance of MER>34dB, Shoulder>40dB. The field test showed that this transition to DVB-T2 standard keeps the same coverage as analog transmitter, but the DVB-T2 digital bandwidth will allows the broadcaster to have more than 30 digital TV channels. The broadcaster is surprised by the jump of technology, from analog PAL TV to HD TV in DVB-T2.
